Part Time Accounts Administrator

£25,000 to £28,000 per year (pro rata to 25 hours a week)

Southampton, Hampshire

Our client, an engineering company based in Romsey, is looking for an experienced Part Time Accounts Administrator to join their friendly company. The role will be to maintain the Company’s Accounts Receivables and Payables together with other administration as needed.

As a Part Time Accounts Administrator, you will be required to carry out various duties which include:

  • Matching and reconciling suppler invoices to purchase orders and goods received. Entry of invoices on to the Company’s computerised accounts system
  • Manage queries and communicating with suppliers to achieve resolution
  • Preparation of payment runs in both Sterling and foreign currency and liaising with suppliers on payment dates
  • Posting cash in both accounts payable and receivable, and liaise with Group Finance department in support of these tasks
  • Assisting and supporting the Buyer when required
  • Maintain a tight control of debtors’ balances and chase for payment when necessary
  • Collate and check employee expense sheets
  • To assist with incoming calls to the Company and provide additional administrative support to the purchasing and sales teams when necessary

You will also require the following experience for the Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant position:

  • A high level of numeracy and accuracy is essential in this role
  • Proven experience in a similar role using a computerised accounting system
  • Strong and assertive communication skills are required in dealing with both suppliers and customers so as to develop good working relationships
  • To work well in a team – liaising with the purchasing/sales departments to resolve bought/sales ledger queries
  • A good level competency is desirable in Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstration of a strong work ethic and proven integrity is essential

The standard full time working hours are Monday to Friday, 0800 - 1700, with an early finish on a Friday. The part time hours will equate to 25 per week and the allocation of theses hours can be decided at interview.

The salary for this role is between £25,000 and £28,000 per year (pro rata at 25 hours per week), depending on experience.
