Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to develop, administer and coordinate functions associated with the Federal and/or State Veterans Education Benefits programs and serve as the U.S. Veterans Administration (VA) designated School Certifying Official, supporting all campuses and outreach centers. This position advises students on appropriate coursework with regard to benefit eligibility. This position also supports NIC prospective, current, and former student veterans, school and agency representatives, and NIC faculty, staff, and administration in the daily operations of the NIC Veterans Resource Center (VRC).

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and three years full-time equivalent related experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience, i.e. an Associate's degree and five years full-time equivalent related experience and/or training

Required License and/or Certifications:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Veterans Administration programs
  • Ability to travel to NIC outreach centers, recruitment events, community events, and trainings in the region
  • Knowledge of databases and relational systems used at the College (i.e., Colleague)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct effective presentations
  • Proficient skills using Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone and copier
