What We Offer:

  • The salary for this position starts at $46,000 ($3,833.34/month)

The UCCS ROTC program is composed of one extension institution and 9 cross-town institutions throughout southern Colorado. This program recruits, educates, develops and inspires Senior ROTC Cadets in order to commission Second Lieutenants of character for the United States Army and partners with southern Colorado high schools to conduct and oversee JROTC in order to develop citizens of character for a lifetime of commitment and service to our nation.

The Admin III position serves as the University Liaison between UCCS and Army ROTC. Under limited supervision, the duties of the position includes project management and special event coordination, recruitment and cadet retention support, purchase and travel card management; program budget management, marketing and social media updating, cadet support, and outreach and fundraising responsibilities.

The key responsibilities include:

Event coordination (8-10 events annually): It is expected that the Admin works with campus scheduling, including scheduling space for club fairs, recruiting booth space, and labs held on campus. Other events include the Fall Dining In, and the Spring Ball, as well as commissioning ceremonies and award ceremonies. They will also assist in the coordination of any other departmental events as needed. This position will coordinate with other campus elements external to the department to maintain open lines of communication and good visibility for the department. This includes coordination with student, club and alumni activities for alumni newsletter publication and distribution.

Budget and Purchasing Management: Maintaining a purchase card, according to state and university spending guidelines, tracking department university budget on a weekly and monthly basis, booking travel and reconciling travel and purchasing reports.

Administrative support: Attending department meetings with Military Science Staff to maintain awareness of department activities and budgets, processing documents and information, and releasing information and communications with external constituents. Duties also include administrative support to the department head, including maintaining his calendar and administrative support to Military Science department personnel as needed. Familiarity with campus offices and procedures to enable correct decisions about how to accomplish administrative tasks is needed. The admin will also assist with maintenance of web page and social media (Facebook) as needed.

Remote work will be available for emergency events. This will be offered based on the emergency and allowance will come from leadership and the guidelines provided at the time of the emergency.

What We Offer:

Generally starting at $46,000-$48,000 per academic year.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

Tentative Search Timeline:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in an admin position or a related field (appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis)
